With England Women's mid-season fixtures coming up next month, we check up on the progress of England's current squad members after the latest round of Betfred Women's Super League and Super League South action.

Leeds Rhinos kicked off the weekend with a 60-4 win over Huddersfield Giants at Headingley, the first of a double-header with the club's Men's team.

The Rhinos led 22-4 at half time and turned on the style in the second half, with many of their England starts influential in the performance.

Keara Bennett scored a try after just six minutes, with Caitlin Beevers also crossing for a first-half try. Fran Goldthorp proved to be one of the stars of the show as she ran in a hat-trick, while there was a double for Courtney Winfield-Hill, who also kicked six goals for the home side.

Georgia Roche was a second-half tryscorer for Leeds and there was a start for both Dannielle Anderson and Emma Lumley at prop for Lois Forsell's Rhinos.

In opposition, hooker Bethan Oates started and captained the Giants but her side had no answer for the relentless home side.

Elsewhere, York City Knights inflicted a first defeat on St Helens since 2019 as they ran out 13-6 winners at the LNER Community Stadium.

In a low-scoring affair, Grace Field was a first-half tryscorer for York, while Tara-Jane Stanley's second half try proved crucial. The full back also kicked two goals and added a drop goal inside the final five minutes.

In an impressive defensive display from Lindsay Anfield's Knights, there were also starts for Hollie Dodd and Olivia Wood in the pack, while Savannah Andrade started and was named Player of the Match. Kelsey Gentles has begun her recovery from an arm injury but was there to support her team mates on a memorable afternoon

In opposition, St Helens got on the scoreboard through Leah Burke, the winger opened the scoring after 12 minutes, Zoe Harris adding the goal.

Chantelle Crowl, Jodie Cunningham, Amy Hardcastle, Tara Jones, Emily Rudge, Naomi Williams, Rachael Woosey and Shona Hoyle all started for Saints, who were missing star centre Carrie Roberts through injury.

Forward pair Paige Travis and Vicky Whitfield featured off the bench for the visitors but didn't have the game-changing impact they were looking for.

In the Betfred Women's Super League South, it was a day to remember for full-back Caroline Collie as her Bedford Tigers side racked up a 64-18 win over the Bristol Golden Ferns in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.

The former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper scored a remarkable six tries and kicked eight goals for a 40-point personal haul.

The pacy outside back became the first England call-up from the southern competition when she was added to Craig Richards' squad back in March.
